Final Episode Odds and Ends
Hello Movie Fans- Just wanted to take care of a few odds and ends as the final episode of Standing Room Only is just hours away. I’ve said this a number of times on air and in my previous post on this topic, but I think it deserves stating again. I am extremely grateful to all of the wonderful listeners who have given me their time over the last seven years. Your enthusiasm and continued support have made my time on the air all the more memorable. I hope you enjoy the last episode of the show, and keep in touch from time to time. On that note, the first item on the odds and ends list:
Contact Info – Just because I’m no longer the Movieguy on the air doesn’t mean I don’t still love movies!! If for any reason you want to contact me to talk about movies (or anything random that strikes your interest) please do so at the following email address: standingroomradio@gmail.com I will check this address regularly and I promise to respond.
Facebook – I am planning to delete the show’s Movieguy Standingroomonly Facebook account at the end of this year. I will not be checking it regularly so this is NOT the best place to contact me.
Regarding the Website – The site will remain active, though I will not be making regular updates to it. From time to time I may post a random thought, a blurb about a movie I’ve seen or something else that will let people know I am still alive. I will not be adding any new DVD Reviews, theatrical predictions, lists or other content. HOWEVER, I have a massive store of lists, countdowns and other content that we’ve done on the show over the years. I am planning to format this material and upload ALL of it to the site so people can check out some of the old show content and topics. It was something I had intended to do years ago, but I could never seem to find the time. It will take quite a while to get all of this stuff together I suspect, because there is A LOT of it! This will not happen immediately, but it will happen, so check back every so often.
Podcasts – Podcasts are not hosted though standingroomonlyone.net. WVUD.org hosts them, and Steve has told me that they will remain available for listening for some months, so check out old episodes while you can.
It has been a fantastic seven year run, and though it saddens me that I will no longer be doing the show, I am ready to begin the next chapter of my life. As I said in the previous post, I’ll be focusing on my painting, writing and other pursuits I was not able to juggle with show. Again, many thanks to all of the listeners for your years of support. To WVUD, Regal, California Video, my co-hosts and everyone else who has helped us through these many years I am forever grateful.
