The 2010 Ranked Movieguy Awards
- There are five nominations allowed in each category, though it is not a requirement that each category be full.
- Every year I will add new categories and remove/consolidate new ones.
- These awards don’t have anything to do with Oscar worthiness. I hold my awards to a somewhat different standard than the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Some awards will mirror my Oscar picks, but be prepared for some different selections come Oscar time.
- You can open the proper files and look at the Movieguy Awards from past years.
New in 2010
- As always I’ve removed some old awards and added new ones. This year I also published a list of just the nominees to view before the actual Movieguy Awards were given out. I know it’s not needed now that the winners were announced, but I’ll leave it there anyway.
New in 2009
This year I have included an honorable or dishonorable mention for each category. This will be a movie or person that deserved a nomination or some kind of recognition, but there was no room left in the category. I’ve also added many new categories, but I won’t list them all here- you’ll just have to check out the awards and find out.
New in 2008
In an effort to make things look a little neater I’ve spaced it all out so there is one award per page. As you scroll down, you will see that each page contains the nominations, winner and analysis of the award.
This year I have added something new. I am going to show you EVERY film/person I considered for each award, then rank them from the winner to the very last film/person in contention for that particular award. This information is available in a separate PDF document called “Ranked Movieguy Awards 2008.” I think this will help put the awards and movie year as a whole in context.
I hope you enjoy the Movieguy Awards!
